SUE DALY FIELD

Sue Daly Field was introduced to BBH Eye as a long-term patient of Dr. Barth.
She recently retired after a 40-year career in education that included teaching English and Spanish in both elementary and high schools.
She served as principal in elementary and middle schools, and as an adjunct instructor at St. Mary's College in their Education Leadership masters program.
Most recently, Sue spent 27 years as the school district superintendent in the Bennett Valley Union School District in Santa Rosa, CA, where she was also the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and Special Education.
She was on the board and served as board president of the Sonoma County School Districts collaborative efforts including: Sonoma County Special Education Local Plan Area (overseeing the special education services for all 40 districts), West County Transportation Administration (providing transportation services to 16 districts), Redwood Empire Schools Insurance Group (providing property, liability, and medical insurance to all 40 Sonoma County school districts), and she was a founding member of the Redwood Partnership for Student Services (later renamed the Rincon Valley Partnership--initially an 8 district partnership that provided high quality special education services to moderate and severely disabled preschool-sixth grade students closer to home).
Sue earned her Bachelors and teaching credentials from Humboldt State University, her Masters an Educational Leadership and administrative credential from St. Mary's College, and her doctorate in Educational Management from University of LaVerne.
She has traveled extensively in Africa, Latin America, and Europe. and presented at a conference for master teachers in Qingdao, China.
Sue is an avid hiker and currently serves as volunteer Coordinator for the Southeast Greenway working to develop a park.
